The other nine finalists in the ‘Specialist Sub-Contractor’ category include service giants Balfour Kilpatrick and General Electric Services. These prestigious and highly successful awards set out to find the best employer in the construction industry, and entry is open to all.
Contract Journal’s deputy editor James Atkinson said, "Everyone knows that construction is all about people. But if the industry wants to compete with other industries and services it has got to work doubly hard to attract and retain the best people. We know that many companies are doing a lot to become better employers and to make the careers of their employees safe, interesting and rewarding."
Since Benfield ATT launched their in-house ‘Passionate People’ programme 2 years ago, the Management team have focused on recruiting the best talent within the industry, becoming an Investor in People and launching a company-wide Career Development Programme.
MD Professor Michael Benfield commented ”We make a lot of effort to build team spirit and reward productivity. People have a high impact wherever they are in the business, meaning we can focus on the development of individuals; nearly all of our employees are either fully qualified or registered on their own Career Development Programme.
“We are very proud to represent the timber frame industry at these awards, and are pleased to demonstrate the high level of satisfaction that comes from working in Off-Site Manufacture. We are also very encouraged to be the only Welsh finalists in this category.”
Benfield ATT’s current projects include innovative self-build homes, eco-developments, blocks of flats, university buildings and a modern church, around the UK.
