Becoming one of the UK’s first engineered timber frame construction organisation to secure the impressive and highly coveted Investors in People accolade, the team are extremely proud.
South Wales-based Benfield ATT received the award after the success of its high-profile Training & Development programme. Investor’s in People (IiP) assessors placed special emphasis on bold improvements in employee relations after placing staff at the centre of its business.
The IiP assessors appraised Benfield ATT’s innovative in-house weekly Employee Forums, a device used by the Management team to bring together all levels of staff together for discussion, listening and team-building.
Benfield ATT design and build engineered Timber Frame homes, schools, hospitals, hotels and leisure complexes all over the UK. By achieving IiP, the team have gained an internationally-recognised quality standard that has set a benchmark for improving the organisation’s performance through its people.
The award, coupled with the recently-released research that links increased training to higher productivity (Department for Education and Skills), shows that companies who are dedicated to developing their people, will reap the benefits.
“The IiP programme has already lifted our performance in helping the company to produce the UK’s finest timber frame buildings,� states Managing Director, Dr Michael Benfield.
With this accreditation, Benfield ATT has now become the only company in the UK to have achieved ISO 9001:2000 accreditation for its quality management system, certification from the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) for designing and building FSC-certified Timber Frame buildings and now gains international recognition for its staff development through IiP.

Benfield ATT employs construction professionals and skilled craftsmen at its South-Wales-based head office, with support from a diverse community of UK-wide teams of Customer Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and Erectors.
