Oak Timber Frame
These hardwood timber frames are traditionally constructed with pegged mortise and tenon joints and may be made from UK sourced FSC-Certified Green Oak, Douglas Fir or other specialist timbers.
Traditional Frame Structure
When wide spans or unusual curved structures are required, we may recommend the strength of Masonite I-beams or the design flexibility of Glulam (Glue-laminated) timber. For extra strong applications, we may also suggest special Metal Web Joists.

With an experienced team of carpenters we create individual frames of superb quality using time-honoured construction methods. Oak is predominantly used but Benfield ATT can also use Douglas Fir, Larch and Chestnut to create excellent, lower-budget timber frames. These frames are then in-filled - or wrapped - with energy efficient engineered timber panels to achieve the dual benefit of attractive exposed post and beams with a healthy, efficient and environmentally friendly living environments in homes.
