Well experienced in all aspects of building, you will take off material descriptions and quantities from construction drawings to check and compliment computer generated manufacturing materials lists. These will be used to ensure that the correct type and quantity of materials are supplied to site at the appropriate time as determined by state-of-the-art project management software.
You will work closely with our structural designers, engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, builders and customers to ensure accurate, minimum waste, 'value engineered' products and projects are delivered to secure total customer satisfaction.

Key Tasks will include:
- Developing and working with bespoke computer software and routines, e.g. Excel spreadsheets
- Maintaining forward projections on materials, labour, and other costs and availability
- Continuing the development of our extensive materials and methods library to ensure leading edge knowledge, skills and accuracy of specification, quantities, and waste reduction
- Assisting in the development of the company's 'Partnering' approach with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, etc.
- Meeting and communicating with clients, builders and other professionals to ensure accuracy and agreement
- Checking quantities and costs to ensure within budget performance
- Maintaining accurate records in case of query or dispute
- Occasional client and site visits for measurement of variations and claims
- Maintaining computerised and written records, CRM system, reminder and prompt facilities
- Assisting other departments as necessary to ensure that our public receive a high standard of follow up service and that they have the information and attention required
- Presenting and Promoting the Company in all arenas in a positive and professional manner
- Attendance at local exhibitions to greet visitors and manage enquiries
- Corresponding with customers and potential customers in support of sales staff
Candidate Profile
- Experienced building tradesman, technician, surveyor, or similar well able to accurately interpret, source and 'take-off' materials, quantities and specifications
- Cheerful, positive, outgoing manner and 'can do' attitude
- Sincere desire to promote engineered timber structures as the route to truly sustainable development.
- Confident approach to working with members of a range of professions
- Ability to promote a range of professional services, timber frame products, and specialist erection / building facilities
- Keyboard literate with working knowledge of MS Word & Outlook
- Some knowledge of CAD design, Truss design and engineering programmes desirable
- Knowledge of Excel, Power Point, ACT, Crystal, would be an advantage
- Current driving licence and own car desirable
- Clear handwriting, good spoken and written English
