From our pleasant and friendly Caldicot HQ, you will receive enquiries by phone, fax, letter and in person, for houses, schools, hospitals, leisure lodges, health care, facilities, etc. as well as roof trusses, joist frames, and a range of other buildings and components.
This position has been created to facilitate our ambitious growth plans and to ensure our customers get the attention they deserve.
Full on-the job training will be given
Your role will be to assist potential customers, their architects, builders and other professional advisors to understand the use of timber as a structural component, either as timber-frame panels, freeform glulam structures, SIPs, traditional Green Oak buildings, Post & Beam designs, or Portal Frames. From this basis of common understanding you will use our proprietary software to produce provisional estimates from their plans.
From follow up discussions you will then advise on and negotiate any amendments required plus the finer points of detail and specifications, to provide each customer with the best value for money building possible. Having determined the most comprehensive and accurate price for their final requirements, you will take their order and oversee the progress of this through design, manufacture, erection on site and final acceptance and handover

Key Tasks will include

- Maintain computerised and written records, CRM system, reminder and prompt facilities
- Ensuring that all enquirers receive a high standard of follow up service and that they have the information and attention required
- Delivering quality presentations on varying aspects of Benfield ATT's products and services to professional and trade audiences in different location
- Manning stands at local exhibitions, greeting visitors and managing enquiries
- Corresponding with customers and potential customers in support of sales and other team members
Candidate Profile
- Keenness to acquire further knowledge of our products and services essential
- Experience of working in a highly motivated, highly energetic environment
- Transferable sales, organisational, estimating, management, etc. skills desirable
- Keen eye for detail, mental, arithmetic and written accuracy essential
- Quick learner with ability to absorb and promote a range of professional and technical services, timber frame products, and specialist erection / building facilities
- Desire to become a 'specialist' in one or more areas of construction advice
- Knowledge of housing, building and timber frame structures would be helpful
- Working knowledge of a consultative, professional technical sales approach (specific training given)
- Cheerful, positive, outgoing manner and 'can do' attitude
- Confident approach to working with members of a range of professions
- Knowledge of, and ability to mount, exhibitions/shows and deliver positive, impelling professional presentations
- Sincere desire to help other people realise their property and building dreams and ambitions
- Keyboard literate with working knowledge of MS Word & Outlook
- Knowledge of Excel, Power Point, ACT, Crystal, would be an advantage
- Home phone, Current driving license and own car essential
- Home computer desirable
- Clear handwriting, good spoken and written English
