Key Tasks include -
- accurate reading and interpretation of drawings
- use of pneumatic equipment
- accurate timber measurement and 'squaring' of trusses
- precise interpretation and application of truss angles
- truss assembly, including selection of appropriate timber
- selection, positioning and precision fixing of truss plates
- palletising / loading of trusses
- conforming to ISO 9001 and TMA quality control procedures
- self and team monitoring of quality
- representing the company in a professional manner at all times
Working with the Production Team, who has extensive experience of panel and truss manufacture, you will be responsible for using manual and semi automatic wood working machinery and pneumatic equipment, together with related Health & Safety, procedures. Selected people may also be trained as fork lift drivers, timber selection, stores management, saw milling, etc...
Subject to satisfactory performance, selected candidates may also be offered the opportunity to train as truss designers.
Candidate Profile -
- ability to read drawings (some IT drawing experience would be beneficial)
- reasonable standard of literacy
- ability to communicate well
- used to following precise instructions
- clear awareness of the dangers present in the timber manufacturing workplace
- familiarity with the use of timber as an engineered construction material
- carpentry or related craft skills - a love of working with wood would be beneficial
- ability to learn all tasks in-depth
- keen desire to improve personal development and to progress in the Company
- willingness to undertake further training, possibly including appropriate NVQ's and/or college based further education.
