Your Qualifications
If you have solid carpenter and joiner trade skills, at least 3 years post qualification experience, the ability to organise and manage paperwork, and the desire and will to develop your career towards management, this opening could be right for you.
The Company
Benfield ATT are leading UK designers, manufacturers and builders of engineered timber structures. You will find their components in houses, schools, health care, resort, hospitality and many other buildings from John O'Groats to the Falklands.
The Job
Based in Caldicot, just over the Severn Bridge in SE Wales, as foreman / supervisor you will be responsible for the carpenter and joiner workshop and teams making wall panels, floor cassettes, roof trusses, pre-hung door sets, stairs, and more from engineering drawings. The ability to control stocks, minimise waste, organise stores, improve output, maintain plant and equipment, train new entrants, and generally promote a progressive and passionate approach to the use of engineered wood products in construction will provide you with great job satisfaction.
Further Knowledge
To comply with current and upcoming legislation you will need to have a good understanding of Health & Safety rules, employee training, CDM regulations and so on. While the ideal candidate will already be knowledgeable in these areas, training will be given as required for a person showing the right attitude and aptitude.
